Mini MUA Haul

I treated myself to a little bit of make-up today when I was out and about in Superdrug; all of which were products from MUA. I have used some of their products in the past, such as the concealer palette, which I loved dearly, so I thought I would try out some of their other products. The brand is ideal for students or for those on a budget as most of their stuff comes in at under £4. It's amazing what you can get for the price of, what would be, one product at any other leading brand of make-up with MUA.

First row (left to right): Matte Perfect Loose Powder in Translucent (£2.50),  Lipstick in Shade 3 (£1), Lipstick in Shade 14 (£1), Matte Lipstick in Totally Nude (£1), Lipstick in Shade 14 (£1), Lipstick in Shade 13 (£1),  Shimmer Highlighter in Iridescent Gold (£3)
Bottom row (left to right): Luxe Lip Lacquer in Tranquility and Atomic (both £3), Cover & Conceal in Fair (£1.50)

With the lipsticks, I found that they were very pigmented and had some beautiful undertones to them. Considering that they're such a bargain, I was extremely surprised at the high quality. My personal favourite out of all of the lipsticks that I purchased is definitely Shade 3, which is an absolutely stunning pink colour with very subtle undertones of gold. I don't tend to go for lipsticks that aren't matte, and they especially don't tend to be my favourites, however, this product is so beautiful and really flatters my pale skin tone.

After hearing a lot of good reviews about the Luxe Lip Lacquer, I thought that I would test it out and see how well the product suited me. The main product that this is a dupe of is the Velvetines lip lacquer by Lime Crime. As I have never tested this product, I can not confirm nor deny this, however I can confirm that it's an absolute bargain for what you are getting. It gives a lovely matte finish and is very long wearing.

The powder that I purchased I am still mixed about it. It seems to be a little bit dark for my skin, which is extremely disappointing to me as I find it quite difficult to get shades to suit and match my skin tone. Other than the colour, it has a wonderful texture, and because it is loose, you can really control how much product you use, which you can't get with a lot of pressed powders.  As for the concealer, although it doesn't look it on the photograph, it is a wonderfully fair colour that is perfect for my skin. Unlike a lot of concealers, it isn't cakey but still maintains a still a full coverage. I would recommend this product, without a doubt. The highlighter that was purchased was a massive surprise to me. I never usually wear a highlighter, but I am so glad that I found this product as it is absolutely stunning! It gives your face a really natural, healthy glow. Again, I definitely recommend this for all of those who are looking for an extra little something in their daily make-up routine.

MUA is exclusive at Superdrug but can also be purchased online here.

New Beginnings

Welcome to my new blog! If you are wondering what kind of posts there will be here, it's going to be a beauty and personal blog. I will be reviewing brands and items of makeup and fashion and, along with that, I will be posting about everyday adventures I have that I think you may enjoy.
I've been wanting to create a blog with this kind of theme for quite a while now but I have never really found the confidence to do so. In the past, I concentrated on music journalism on another blog I ran previously, however, there is something in myself that tells me that I need to move on and have a new beginning.
I hope you enjoy my posts as much as I enjoy writing and sharing them with you. If you would like to be notified when I have a new post up, subscribe for updates!

Until next time,

Madison Violet x
